About DSE-CE
To learn more about DSE-CE, we have to start with Dominican Sisters International – DSI. DSI is an international movement among Dominican Sisters of the Apostolic life, founded in Rome in May 1995 by 80 Prioresses General. In 2011, 25.000 Dominican Sisters from 153 Congregations in 110 countries belong to DSI.
The DSI member Congregations are grouped according to the following geographical divisions: Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America.
The “European continental division of DSI” is called Dominican Sisters Europe – DSE.
DSE-CE means “Dominican Sisters Europe – Central and Eastern” and it is one of the six regional groupings belonging to DSE. It covers approximately the area of former communist countries.
Currently, five Dominican congregations cooperate within this region – their communities are in Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. We would like to invite also other Dominican congregations or communities living in the same area to get in touch with us.
DSE-CE nominates its delegate who represents the grouping in the DSE Coordination Team.
The present delegate of DSE-CE (May 2013 – May 2019) is Sr. Lucia OP, Dominican Sisters of Saint Margaret of Hungary.
